Excelsior Scholarship
The Excelsior Scholarship, in combination with other student financial aid programs, allows students to attend a SUNY or CUNY college tuition-free.
An applicant must:
· be a resident of NYS and have resided in NYS for 12 continuous months prior to the beginning of the term;
· be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen;
· have either graduated from high school in the United States, earned a high school equivalency diploma, or passed a federally approved "Ability to Benefit" test, as defined by the Commissioner of the State Education Department;
· have a combined federal adjusted gross income of $100,000 or less;
· be pursuing an undergraduate degree at a SUNY or CUNY college, including community colleges and the statutory colleges at Cornell University and Alfred University;
· be enrolled in at least 12 credits per term and complete at least 30 credits each year (successively), applicable toward his or her degree program;
· if attended college prior to the 2017-18 academic year, have earned at least 30 credits each year (successively), applicable toward his or her degree program prior to applying for an Excelsior Scholarship;
· be in a non-default status on a student loan made under any NYS or federal education loan program or on the repayment of any NYS award;
· be in compliance with the terms of the service condition(s) imposed by a NYS award that you have previously received; and
· Execute a Contract agreeing to reside in NYS for the length of time the award was received, and, if employed during such time, be employed in NYS.

Enhanced Tuition Award
An Enhanced Tuition Awards recipient can receive up to $6,000 through a combination of their TAP award, ETA award and a match from their private college. For example, a student who receives a $1,000 TAP award would receive an additional $5,000 – half of which would be paid by the ETA and half by his or her college.
The Enhanced Tuition Awards program provides tuition awards to students who are New York State residents attending a private college located in New York State. Recipients will receive $6,000 through a combination of their TAP award, ETA award and a match from their private college.
An applicant must:
· be a resident of NYS and have resided in NYS for 12 continuous months prior to the beginning of the term;

· be in a non-default status on a student loan made under any NYS or federal education loan program or on the repayment of any NYS award;

NCAA
NCAA Registration procedures for High School Athletes
Students who are interested in participation in Division I and Division II sports on the college level must register with the NCAA Clearinghouse and complete the online-application.
(SEE THE ATTACHED CRITERIA FOR ACADEMIC ELIGIBILITY) the NCAA application can be completed at the end of 11th grade or the fall of 12th grade
Students must register online at: www.eligibilitycenter.org
The Eligibility center will only accept official transcripts. PLEASE NOTIFY YOUR COUNSELOR ONCE YOU HAVE REGISTERED ON NCAA so that he/she may have your transcript sent. Transcripts that are faxed or that come from the student (or parents/guardian) cannot be used.

SAT Scores will also need to be sent to the NCAA. The NCAA wants these mailed directly from The College Board. The code for the NCAA IS 9999 – fill this information in under “Score Reports to Colleges” on the College Board website or SAT registration form.

- Pay $80 via credit card with parent present ( or see your counselor if you are eligible for a fee waiver
- Print out successful registration sheet and give it to your counselor
